*NEW LOCATION UPDATE* September 2026: New Venue Beginning September 30! After many great years at Konak, we’re excited to announce that our meetup is moving next door to Hopleaf Bar beginning Wednesday, September 30! As our group has grown, we wanted a space that’s an even better fit for game night. Hopleaf gives us a dedicated upstairs area with more room for games, quieter conversation, flexible table layouts, and the much-requested better lighting! We’ll still be meeting every other Wednesday from 7:00 PM to around 10:00 PM, with the same friendly atmosphere, great games, and welcoming community you’ve come to expect. We can’t wait to see everyone at our new home at Hopleaf (right next door to Konak)! Along with this change, we’ll also be launching a Facebook group so we can continue building our board game community outside of meetup nights. We love games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Wingspan, and Azul, but you’re encouraged to bring any board game, card game, or party game you’d like to share. Teach us a favorite, learn something new, or simply join a table and jump in. Whether you’ve lived in Chicago for years, just moved here, or are visiting, we’d love to have you. Our goal is simple: create a fun, welcoming community where people can relax, laugh, and make new friends. Come roll some dice, play some games, and hopefully leave with a few new friends. Not your grandpa's board games: We are rarely found to be playing classic board games such as Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, Yahtzee, etc. No disrespect to the classics, but board gaming has experienced a resurgence which has resulted in a myriad of new, interesting and unique games to try. We typically play light to heavy strategy games, playing whatever participants bring/want to play. Don't let that intimidate you though, we are always willing to teach! We plan to have several meetups every month and eventually would like to plan some bigger all-day gaming marathons on occasional weekends as well as possibly a convention of sorts. This is a group for playing a variety of modern board games. Feel free to come empty-handed as I will bring my copy of the scheduled game. Each event will be limited attendance based on how many people can play each game. Our goal with All Aboard Games is to organize and host events where people can share the joy of modern board and card games with other friendly people. We make it a priority to be welcoming in a comfortable environment for both new players and experienced ones alike! We have a wide array of different games being played during our events, and also experienced players eager to teach them! We also plan to have special events and provide an opportunity to buy, sell, and trade used games! It is a golden age of boardgames, and we hope you will join us. Come out and meet Anchorage table top game enthusiasts and have some fun! If you're interested in playing contemporary/modern board and table top games, you'll fit right in. We welcome all levels of interest, from people who are new to the hobby to those that enjoy a spending a day on an epic game of Twilight Imperium. To our knowledge, this is the largest and most established public group in Anchorage for board/card games. We've been going on in some form since November 2011. We play a mix of the modern classics and hot things right off the gaming presses. This is the destination for table top gaming of all types in Anchorage! Join us for boardgames of all types and a relaxing evening. - We are dedicated to becoming a "Safe Space for Women and LGBTQIA+". Participants must conduct themselves respectfully -- "if you wouldn't say those words to your mother, don't say them here". Washington Street, Ann Arbor. Cancellations will be announced if the cafe is closed for any reason - You can bring your own game or take your chances. About 50% of people will bring their own game. Some people come just to experience "new" games - There is never any cost to attend our events, however, cafe management requires that each participant buy one food or drink item. We are NOT being charged for taking up half of their patron space for 3 hours. A cup of coffee is not that much to ask, I think. They don't charge us rent so it's the least you can do. We have been in operation since Friday, September 7th, 2018. Isn't that amazing? Frequently asked questions - Do you have any D&D players? You could play an adventure with pre-rolled characters but due to the casual drop-in nature of our group and the fact that reservations are required, I would not suggest a regular "campaign" - Is it really free of charge to attend? You will never be charged to play games. However, this meetup does cost me $360/year so we would appreciate if you kick in $5 or $10 using the Pledge donation button.
