Description
Gethsemane is a game of social deduction and conversation that thrusts players (from 6 to 63) into the dramatic 24-hour period preceding Jesus’ death on the cross. The game play follows the events and characters of the Easter story as they are described in the gospels. Gethsemane is meant to be played for both pure entertainment and educational purposes, cleverly unpacking the themes and nuances of the Easter story, as well as the dilemmas faced by its characters.
During the game you will meet Jesus Christ, who was revolutionizing the Jewish faith, and his loyal disciples. You will also meet the High Priest Caiaphas, who considered Jesus and his followers a threat to the established society, thus tempting the disciple Judas to betray Jesus in Gethsemane. In Gethsemane the players are assigned a role from among the key characters of the New Testament account, and they will either be on Jesus’ or Caiaphas’ team. The roles are secret, and only by way of argument, discussion, deception and cunning will players survive and win the game.
